Account and password help
Over time, we will accumulate many accounts and passwords (called credentials), and we need to keep them safe. But what if we forget to write down the updated password, or we might lose the little black book?
-
Apps
Apps (short for applications) help us achieve what we are trying to do. Whether you are writing an email, browsing the internet or checking the weather, it’s all done on an app.
-
Computers
We’ve come to depend on computers just doing what they’re supposed to do and when they go wrong - they go wrong. When it comes time to replace them, that can even be difficult.
-
Health check
For that peace of mind, your home's computers, tablets, phones, and WiFi are safe, updated, and protected.
-
Laptops
Laptops are more portable than computers and very convenient. They can be just as powerful as their larger cousins and just as complicated.
-
Mobile phones and watches
Mobile phones and Smart Watches go in tandem with our day-to-day technology. They make payments, give us access to email and keep us in touch with our loved ones.
-
Printers
Printers help us make physical copies of our digital information. Like our computers and phones, we need them to work when we need them.
-
Smart home
Our homes are becoming more intelligent, with lighting, thermostats, smoke detectors, meters, blinds, TVs, security, and appliances, to name a few!
-
Tablets
These mobile devices with touchscreens are perfect to take just about anywhere.
-
Training
Sometimes, we all need a little extra help on our digital journey. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to brush up on specific skills, having bespoke training can help give you confidence.
-
Virus!
Computer Viruses (viruses for short) can infect and attack any device, from computers and laptops to phones, tablets, and anything else.
-
WiFi
WiFi (and Bluetooth) gives us the freedom of not having wires and connecting our devices just about anywhere.
Have a computer problem? No problem!
During our time together, I’ll be open and honest with you, ensuring I understand your needs and discussing what I have found with you. In my experience, this helps you make an informed decision on the next steps.
I can help with the setup, connection or repair of your:
Computers, Laptops, Mobile Phones, Printers, Tablets, Virus removal or WiFi.
I also provide a service known as a health check, where I can investigate a range of your devices to get an overall picture of their health and offer some advice and a way forward. A health check typically takes around two hours but is very much dependant on how many devices there are in your home.
Click the Health Check button for more information.
Domestic Customers
My pricing model is simple and transparent. During opening hours, I charge £35 for the first hour. Each subsequent hour is charged at £8.75 per 15 minutes, with no additional call out fees.
Small Business Customers
My pricing model is dependent on your needs and the complexity of your environment. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me for more information.
Consultancy falls outside this price model. It is generally referred to as professional services and is usually based on specific, more complex types of work.
See below for more information on consultancy work.
Consultancy
As you might imagine, working in the IT industry for over 30 years, I have a fair bit of experience and knowledge across many fields. From providing professional services for the finance and legal industry, to government and charity bodies, I can help by providing advice or specialised insight on a subject matter.
Consultancy work would generally focus on a specific task or need, such as a framework, policy, process document, or governance review of existing documents.
It might also consist of reviewing the wider internet access across your home or site and how we can achieve what you want. It doesn’t have to be complicated. I desire to make it as simple and achievable as possible.
I may not have all the answers, but I certainly have the contacts to help you.

FAQ’s
We all have questions. I aim to keep this page updated with your questions and answers.
-
FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions. FAQs are common online to assist when phrasing questions might be challenging. I hope the questions (and answers) I have put together here help you feel confident about asking me for help.

Using the same password across all your accounts and systems may be tempting, but what is tempting to you may be enticing to others.
Having the same password for your computer, email, online banking, and many other accounts does sound convenient, but imagine if you had a key to your home that unlocked the front door, back door, garage, gate, and every door inside. Now imagine the worst: you lose that key.
Good, complex, strong passwords are critical to ensuring your online safety.
-
MFA stands for Modern Factor Authentication, which is sometimes called Multifactor Authentication or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
MFA is a way to verify the user's identity, and it is more secure than a traditional username and password.
By incorporating MFA with your username and password combination, MFA requires a timed response that is usually sent directly to a device (such as your mobile phone) on your person.
MFA is an added layer of security that prevents baddies from gaining access to your accounts if your password is compromised.

Honesty and transparency are fundamental to any relationship. Why wouldn't we have this with our support company?
I want you to be comfortable knowing my prices and how I charge before we start the work to avoid and surprises.
During our time together, I'll keep you updated on progress not only with time, but also with costs.

Through a series of free workshops in the local area, we are hoping to help people better understand this everchanging environment and help them protect themselves from being scammed.
The workshop itself is free, but I may need to charge a small amount to offset the cost for renting the facility.

The name Bluetooth was originally a temporary code name from Intel during a meeting in 1961. The name stuck, and it was later adopted as the official name for the technology. It is named after Harald Bluetooth, a Danish king known for uniting different tribes, as Bluetooth was designed to unite devices through wireless technology.
The logo is two merged "runes," or letters from an ancient, pre-Latin alphabet, Hagall (ᚼ), and Bjarkan (ᛒ), according to the Bluetooth SIG.

An IT outage happens when an IT service becomes unavailable. For example, an IT outage can affect servers, websites, hardware, or software, that ultimately causes widespread disruptions in services.
For example, a recent global IT outage (19 July 2024) caused by a software update from CrowdStrike affected airlines, banks, and healthcare services worldwide.
Please be aware of scammers who may try and take advantage of the situation, and you by posing to be “someone” from customer care or a legal team offering their support.

The dark web is a part of the internet that isn’t indexed by search engines and requires special software, like the Tor browser, to access. The dark web allows users and website operators to remain anonymous and untraceable.
While it is often associated with illegal activities, such as the sale of drugs and stolen data, the dark web is not all bad and hosts legitimate uses, like private communication or whistleblowing.
