SilverHelp IT is the charitable arm of YourHelp IT. It was set up to promote digital inclusion, especially for people over sixty and anyone who may feel technology has moved faster than they are able to keep up with. However, we are happy to help any group who wants to better understand their technology.

Changes in technology can seem daunting, overwhelming, or even scary to some, and it is all too easy to fall behind in this ever-changing environment. Our high streets are changing, people are shopping and banking online, and communication methods are forever evolving. All of this can lead to feelings of isolation, frustration, or concerns with security and criminal activity. We aim to help people understand and feel more comfortable with modern technology.

Through local workshops delivered in community centres, care homes, and social clubs, we aim to demystify some of this technology, help people get more out of it, raise awareness of scammers’ techniques, and educate individuals on how to protect themselves. This is all done with the help of our volunteers, and on occasions, we may have a guest speaker or industry expert.

We reach out to local care homes and clubs, however if you would like us to give a workshop to your group, please do get in touch.

Here is some of the feedback from our workshop, Communication (Email, Texts and WhatsApp), at

The Key Centre, Elvetham.

The workshop was held at 1315 on 20 January 2025.

Thank you for your interesting group discussion this afternoon.

I think it was useful that you advised us how to try to spot scams and other phishing methods used by unscrupulous people.
We are rather vulnerable as the elder generation because we were not brought up to use computers and can be too trusting.
It also made me realise that I am not quite as naive about computers and mobile phones as I previously thought!

Extremely useful information, when is the next one?

Relaxed atmosphere and very helpful responses to our questions. Thank you for taking your time to help us.

Upcoming workshops

Following the feedback from our Communication Workshop (Email, Texts, and WhatsApp) at the Key Centre in Fleet on 20 January 2025, we are reviewing the content to help make it more relevant to you. We also procured a new projector!

In 2024, we had successful workshops covering Scam Prevention and Jargon at the Fleet Social and Bowling Club on Clarence Road, the Key Centre, Elvetham, and most recently at Harlow Hall in Aldershot. We are delighted with the feedback.

Our next workshop is currently being scheduled for February 2025.
